Frequently Asked Questions

  • Free Consultation: We will talk briefly (15-30 minutes) about the concerns that bring you to therapy and to help decide whether we would be a good fit to begin therapy.

Background Forms: I may ask if you would fill out a few forms to help me get a better sense of some of the concerns that have been challenging.

Intake Evaluation: We will schedule an initial evaluation appointment where I will ask more about your background, mental health history, context of your current concerns, and wishes and goals for psychotherapy and life.

Ongoing Psychotherapy: After the initial intake, we will likely meet 1 to 2 x weekly for 50-55 minute sessions. Some people will find they start to feel better or make progress towards their goals in the first few sessions and others may find that it takes somewhat longer depending on their current concerns and the pace that feels most comfortable.

  • I am available virtually to those locally as well as in all participating PSYPACT states.

I will have some availability for in-person sessions very soon. If interested in in-person availability please feel free to ask about options.

  • I mostly work with adults, but also work with older adolescents. My background includes both a BA and MA in developmental psychology and I like to incorporate this knowledge and skill into how I work with parents navigating the perinatal period and beyond.

  • 55 minute sessions: $225

Some sliding scale options are available, please inquire with me.

Payment is due at the time of session. I accept credit card payments through my secure practice site, but can also accept check or Zelle payment as needed.

If you would like to use your out of network behavioral health benefits, I will provide a superbill monthly for you to submit for possible reimbursement.

  • I do not currently take insurance, but am working to contract with a few local insurances and will update this space as new information develops.

I can provide you with a detailed statement (a “superbill”) that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.

You can check with your insurance provider about your out-of-network coverage before beginning therapy. You might ask questions like:

    • “What are my out-of-network benefits for seeing a licensed psychologist for outpatient care?”

      • Important CPT codes to ask about are:

        • 90791: Initial diagnostic evaluation

        • 90834: 45-minute therapy sessions

        • 90837: 55-minute sessions

    • “What percentage of the cost is covered?”

    • “Do I have a deductible for mental health services, and if so, how much?”

    • “Is there a limit on the number of sessions I can have per year?”

    • “How can I submit a claim?”

  • Under the “No Surprises” Act, you have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining the expected cost of your mental health services.

You can request a Good Faith Estimate before starting therapy or at any time during treatment. I’m happy to discuss your questions and provide an estimate based on your specific goals and needs.
